Thurne Dyke and Thurne Mouth

Location Map

Thurne Dyke

Thurne Dyke is the location of the iconic white drainage pump. It is the the only access point to the southern end of the River Thurne. There is very little parking apart from the Lion Public House, which is for patrons only. There is only a short stretch of mooring giving a view of the river, but there are footpaths north and south along the river from the dyke, with views of the river, but often obscured by the fringing reeds.

Thurne Mouth

Thurne Mouth is a 24hr Broads Authority mooring. It gives a reasonable view of the river mouth and good views downstream. However, access is only by foot, either down the river bank from Thurne Dyke or from Boundary Road. There is no nearby parking.
